As the days begin to shorten, even if it's just by a minute or two for now, the first parkrun of the summer was quite a muggy one and our Sinfin runners once again visited a variety of parkrun courses to sweat it out. Over in Gedling, Nottingham, in the performance of the day Samuel B blasted through the steep hills in his first visit to the course to take top spot! Well done Sam! He went along with Alyson W who was debuting and [also!] first in her age category.
There were some fairly remote trips with debuts from David L at York, Kevin P at Delamere in Cheshire, finishing 8th and first in his age category, and Julie M in North Wales on the difficult sandy beach of Halan Pwllheli parkrun, who also was first in her age category. She's perfected a new pose for the parkrun popup picture, as you can see below!
Brian W and Robert L tripped to Market Bosworth, for Brian's first visit, and over in Stafford, Brendan D, Duncan C, and Dan W all made their debuts at Isabel Trail parkrun, with Dan grabbing first in his age category. Nearer to home at Conkers, Dawn O and Daisy M made their first visits to the course.
Locally in Derby, at Markeaton James S grabbed himself a course PB and at Alvaston 16 of our runners were in attendance, three of whom, Richard B, Deanna S & Jamie M, were volunteering - many thanks guys! On the running front, Lisa P was our first Sinfin home and first lady in a cracking 7th place, and Fiona F grabbed herself a course PB. There were also many who were first in their age categories, namely Connah B, Danielle S, Lisa P, Fiona F, Maria G, and Sharon C.
Finally, up on Tyneside our north-east member David B, visited Newcastle for his debut at Rising Sun parkrun.
