Week 46
It was a fairly cloudy affair today, for the UK parkruns at least, with 28 runners taking to the courses around the world, and four members volunteering - at Alvaston parkrun Brian W, Deanna S, Richard B helped out and at Markeaton, Martin S did a spot of marshalling. Many thanks all!
On their holidays, Brendan D was in Northern Ireland, running on an all sand course in Portrush - definitely hard work - and Fiona F completed Waitangi parkrun in Wellington, New Zealand, where I'm sure the weather was better than back home!
That said, whilst it was rather dull, it actually was good for running despite a lot of overnight rain. At Alvaston, there were course PBs for Dara P and Lauren G, and Dan W, Jane W, Nicky P were all first in their age categories. Over in nearby Markeaton Park, both of our runners, Philip W and Graham Y were also first in their age categories.
There was a fair smattering of tourism too, with Julie M getting herself an excellent PB at Wollaton Hall parkrun. There were first time visits for Michael T at Beacon Hill Country Park parkrun, Sarah R at Oaklands parkrun, Lucy T at Pavilion Gardens parkrun, Alyson W & Samuel B at Tamworth Castle Grounds parkrun, and Kevin P at Victoria Dock parkrun.
