Week 28
After a few days of intermittent breezy and wet weather, it was a case of everyone wondering just what was in store for the Saturday parkrun blast. At Alvaston the weather largely behaved itself and even some sun appeared making it generally quite a close affair for the 12 members who turned up. David L volunteered on the barcode scanning, and the star of the runners was Sarah R finishing first in her age category with an excellent run! Thanks David for helping out today.
Over the other side of Derby at Markeaton, new member Lisa D ran herself to a course PB and was first in her age category, and at Long Eaton, Kevin P continued his fabulous improvement with another PB in 19:12 and first in his age category.
Up the road at Brierley Forest parkrun, Chris S got himself a cracking course PB, and Martin S & Fiona F made their course debuts.
There were a few members out and about also, and collecting their fairly elusive 'Y' this week, were Alyson W, Tomas S, and Samuel B who debuted at Yarborough Leisure Centre parkrun up in Lincoln with Sam taking 6th place in an amazing time of 19.10.
Up at Chopwell Wood in the north-east, David Br made his debut.
Last but certainly not least though, as he was the furthest travelled parkrunner for Sinfin RC this week, was Dan W making the trip north of Burnley & Blackburn to Clitheroe Castle parkun, grabbing himself a delicious 9th placing!
