Week 15
There was a strange glowing ball in the sky this morning at parkrun, which some refer to as "the sun". It was a welcome sight, after a dreadful week of cold air, rain and wind. Our club members celebrated the return of Sol with plentiful parkruns around the country.
North of Manchester, Sam B and Tomas H ran for the first time at Heaton parkrun, Liz T was at York to make her debut there, and Chris S was at Millhouses in Sheffield also debuting on the course. Another course debutant was Jamie M who made the shorter trip to Bramshall Road, Uttoxeter and Tom S, Ryan F & Kieran M headed to Notts for Beeston parkrun, also making their course debuts.
At Markeaton, six club members ran, wtih Fiona F and Graham Y getting first in their age categories. Tony A made his debut on the course. Markeaton celebrated their 400th parkrun, with many of those being ran at the old and much missed Darley Park parkrun... so well done all at Markeaton parkrun!
Back in Alvaston, after a late plea for volunteers, a posse of club members put their names forward with Deanna S, Nicky P, David L, Dawn O and Jane W all helping out. Thanks everyone, without volunteers parkruns just don't happen! On the running front Chelsea W was first in her age category, as was Christopher M, and Chris B grabbed an excellent course PB.
