Week 10
With the winter seemingly returning this week with some heavy snow falling across the country and some sub-zero overnight temperatures, it was difficult to predict which parkruns would be on. Fortunately, in Derby the snow had all melted rather rapidly yesterday and there were surprisingly very few icey patches meaning Alvaston and Markeaton were both on.
This was great news for Sinfin's "Couch 2 5K" runners who'd persevered since the second week of January on a 9 week mission to "graduate" at Alvaston today. And graduate they did! An excellent turnout from the club was there to witness their brilliant achievement. Well done all of you C25Kers from all at Sinfin Running Club. And celebrating a rather large milestone was Robert L, who'd finally arrived at 300 parkruns after 10 years of clocking them up. Many cakes were enjoyed by those in attendance!
On the running front there were 25 Sinfin members on the course (beside the C25K runners), with Chelsea W, Connah B and Samuel B finishing first in their age categories - Sam also taking 4th spot with an excellent sub-19 time! Claire M and Emma B made their debuts on the course.
At Markeaton, Fiona F, Julie M and Sharon C, braved the cold conditions.
