Week 52 (a)
Merry Christmas everyone! Whilst it has been no white Christmas, far from it in fact, the weather was certainly perfect for running today and bumper crowds turned out all over the country for a festive parkrun. Twenty-four Sinfin members made it to six different courses, four of which volunteered, all at Alvaston.
Because of the inflated numbers at Christmas Day parkrun, it was a little harder for members to shine, but at Alvaston where 385 souls appeared, Danielle S managed 3rd female, and Catherine W was 6th. Lauren G marshalled with her pooch, Lorna C helped out with the barcode scanning, and Lucy & Michael T directed the volumes of traffic in the car park before running.
On the road Simon B was furthest travelled down on the south coast for Fareham parkrun, and nearer to home Gary L made his debut at Cannock Chase parkrun.
Making his first visit to a near 600 strong field of runners at Conkers parkrun was Tomas H, accompanied by Alyson W, Jane W and Samuel B, and at Rushcliffe parkrun, Martin S made his debut, alongside Nicky P who grabbed herself a magnificent course PB, and 4th in her age category.
Well done everyone who ventured out today (probably facing some challenges from the family!) to make it a special day for parkrun. Enjoy the rest of the festivities and see everyone on Saturday for 2023's parkrun finale. 🎄🎅🏼💚💜
