Adam Groves

With Halloween tomorrow it's time to bring you October's Meet the Green Team, and this month we bring to you one of the club's 2023 "newbie" stars....Adam Groves!

But there's nothing scary about this guy.... Adam started the year on a mission, needing to get a 10k race done....but he'd not ran before and therefore this was a massive challenge for him. So he joined Sinfin's Couch to 5k group in January and soon got into shape, in fact running the Ram 5 even before his target 10k! He even took on the Dovedale Dash at the start of October as he's been loving it that much - a race definitely not for the faint hearted!

He likes to come along to club nights and get more practice in as his appetite for running grows more and more. He's also taken to parkruns and even managed to squeeze one in on his stag do in Berlin, getting married just six weeks ago! There's commitment for you!

As well as walking his dogs, Adam loves his computers and making things using his 3D printer.... perhaps we'll see him churning off a pair of trainers in the near future, although can't imagine they'll be very comfy!

You can expect to see a lot more of Adam over the coming months, he's a great example of how easy it is to catch the running bug once you take up the gauntlet, and so on that note, let's hear from the man himself...
