Charity Cheque presentation to The Derby Mountain Rescue Team

At our last Wednesday night Club meeting we made a cheque presentation to Paul Barlow who is one of the local volunteers for the Derby Mountain Rescue Team. He was joined by Martin Dodd and Jon Sabine who popped in on the way back from a job in their Mountain Rescue vehicle.

The Derby Mountain Rescue team provide an invaluable service and as a running club with members that participate in fell races / undertake other challenges and enjoy being out in different areas in the Derbyshire Peaks we feel this is the type of service needs to be highlighted and supported especially as they receive no government funding and rely purely on public donations.

This donation is the final part of the proceeds from our 2020 Sinfin Classic race that we have had to cancel due to the "pandemic" and fulfils our promise to pass on those donations made by the entrants.
